Life's a Party with Natural Energy Boosters

Life's a Party

I have just returned from a few fabulous days with family in Darwin, in the Top End of the Northern Territory of Australia.  My little grandson, Jaxon, is 3 years old and life is magical. We played for five days - in the pool, pretend fishing, cars, blowing bubbles, throwing balls, at the beach and the playground. We giggled and laughed our way through the days, and I was rejuvenated.

Life is a party for a three year old. My son, Jaxon's Dad, said that's how he remembers most of his childhood too.

I also received a video of my other six grandchildren, who live at a distance from me.  The three girls and three boys aged between 5 years and 12 years are active in netball, swimming, gymnastics, soccer, motorbike riding - motocross, and horse riding - polocrosse. On the go all the time.

The fathers are involved with their children's activities, and it's rewarding for me to see this involvement passing down to the next generation.

We always ask our children, 'What do you want to be when you grow up', as if growing up is the ultimate. However, as Rosaleen Dickson says:

“Whatever they grow up to be, they are still our children, and the one most important of all the things we can give to them is unconditional love. Not a love that depends on anything at all except that they are our children.”

Why is it that so many children are obese, lethargic and bored?  Is it because they are missing out on this unconditional love, or is it that their parents are stuck in a rut, and not tapping into the variety of Natural Energy Boosters that are available everywhere?

Whilst on my holiday, I was reading 'The Master Key System by Charles F. Haanel. Written in 1912 this book has recently had a revival with the creation of the inspirational movie 'The Secret'. The book reveals the secret of leading a happy, abundant and energized life.

This is also the subject of my book, 'The Energy Book For Life'. By reading this, you will be re-charged with hundreds of ways to energize yourself on a daily basis. If you choose to read the book you will then be provided with Charles F. Haanel's book as a bonus.

This year, make it your mission to energize your life so you too can say 'Life's a Party'.

Natural Energy Boosters and World Cup Soccer

Are you a sport watcher or a sport player? Do you find playing or watching sport a natural energy booster, or does it sometimes have the opposite effect?I conducted a survey where I asked more than eighty people ‘What energizes you? And ‘What de-energizes you?’

One of the people I surveyed said he was energized by ‘participating in or watching team sports where you really want a certain team to win’.He said it was de-energizing ‘being in or watching the team you want to win, lose’, and he went on to say that he even felt a little depressed going to work the next day after seeing one of his teams defeated.

As I write this, World Cup Soccer is being played in Germany and our Australian team has lost against the Italian team in a way that was described by Australian Prime Minister John Howard as ‘a very cruel way to lose’.  The Italians were awarded a penalty goal in the last eight seconds of the game.Mr Howard went on to say, ‘I am brokenhearted’. So perhaps he is a person who is de-energized by seeing his team lose.

Sometimes it seems like the whole country stops for a sporting event, and the attitude and energy of the nation rests on whether the team is a winner or a loser.Few sports attract a more passionate following than World Cup Soccer. The extreme emotions of spectators have created riots that have caused the loss of lives.

At this year’s World Cup, Stuttgart Police dispatched 1,800 officers, a force boosted by hooligan experts from England as part of a largely successfully cooperative effort to prevent trouble.

Apparently there is a theory called ‘The Pressure Cooker Effect”, and this is prevalent in soccer. Since much of the soccer match is spent in the teams shifting the ball from one end of the field to the other without scoring a goal, the spectators’ emotional pressure cooker builds up with tension. This tension remains until a goal is scored, and because the number of goals in Soccer is so low the pressure continues to build and can explode in alarming ways.

In other football codes, many goals are scored, and when this happens the crowds can let off steam by rising to cheer – or alternatively groan and yell abuse. Either way, the pressure cooker valve is released.

A new hi-tech ball called the Adidas Teamgeist or “team spirit,” was predicted to solve some of the problems of low scoring. The Teamgeist only has 14 sewn panels, instead of 26 or 32, making it far smoother than ever before.  However, the smoother surface gives the ball a more unpredictable trajectory in the air  which has goalkeepers going crazy.  This should translate into more goals being scored.

What’s more, the ball is nearly completely waterproof. FIFA rules state that balls must not have a more than 10 percent weight increase when wet; the Teamgeist has less than .01 percent weight increase. Theoretically, this should make it easier to score goals, since the ball hardly changes in weight from the beginning to the end of the game, regardless of the weather.

Now, I’m not World Cup Soccer expert by any means, but I’ve checked out the scores and I don’t see any match  so far this year where either team scored more than 3 goals, and even this was rare. It seems like the Pressure Cooker effect is likely to remain with us despite a high-tech ball. S

o if you are a soccer fanatic and would like to get over your mood swings related to your team’s success, you might have to do it by yourself. How can you get yourself out of a slump from the devastation of your team’s loss?

Is there such a thing as SFA – ‘Sports Fanatics Anonymous’?

You can be your own SFA by taking a few simple steps.Variety is the key. If you obtain your energetic highs from a variety of activities and interests you are less likely to be de-energized by one thing – be it sports or anything else.

If you are finding yourself becoming addicted to one form of energy booster, becoming fanatical about your passion or too focused on just one interest or activity, then simply turn your attention to other things you can enjoy.

In ‘The Energy Book for Life’ you will find a list of more than 200 natural energy boosters that people I interviewed find works for them. Many of them don’t cost money, and some are just an attitude, or a mindset.

It is possible to be happy and energized for most of the moments in your day. Start today to discover other natural energy boosters that ignite your passion and give you pleasure and joy.

Enjoy your sport, but don’t let it take over your life.

Live with Energy.
